Dan Sondhelm is the CEO of Sondhelm Partners, a firm designed to help investment managers, mutual fund and ETF firms, wealth managers and fintech firms attract and keep investors, strengthen distribution and build brands through sales, marketing and public relations strategies.

Dan has been instrumental in helping boutique and larger firms develop and execute strategies for growth since 1990.  Dan was nominated by MutualFundWire in 2009 as one of the Most Influential People in Fund Distribution for his guidance and perspective in helping companies grow. Dan also frequently contributes to the financial news media and presents or moderates at industry conferences and webinars.

Prior to founding Sondhelm Partners, Dan was a senior partner and senior vice president at SunStar Strategic. Dan is a member of the Third Party Marketers Association and participates in the strategy and membership committee. He holds the Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Dan earned an MBA from the Kogod College of Business Administration at American University in Washington, DC. He lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife Jenna, twin children Madeleine and Gabriel, and cat Remy.

Kate S. Licina

Kate S. Licina, founding principal of Bloom Marketing Partners, has 12 years’ experience marketing in the financial services industry.

Prior to launching Bloom, she served as a Director of Marketing at Advisory Research Investment Management and Associate Director of Marketing & Communications for Henderson Global Investors (now Janus Henderson Investors). 

Kate began her career in the investment industry at Citadel LLC in Chicago and began her career in marketing at The Zimmerman Agency in Tallahassee, Florida. Kate holds a B.A. in Communications from Florida State University and was awarded the CFA Institute Investment FoundationsTM Certificate.

Mary Toole

President, Toole Bertz & Associates LLC

Mary Toole has three decades of experience in the financial services industry.  She founded Toole Bertz & Associates LLC in 1999. The firm develops and delivers financial content that helps financial services companies, plan sponsors, wholesalers, and advisors communicate clearly. The company’s clients include T. Rowe Price, Carson Coaching Group, and United Capital Financial Services, 

Prior to starting Toole Bertz & Associates, Mary was Director of Education Communications for Strong Retirement Plan Services.  She helped write, deliver, and evaluate Strong’s award-winning retirement education program, Investing At Work.

Before joining Strong, Mary spent a dozen years wholesaling investment products and services (mutual funds, annuities, unit investment trusts, exchange-traded funds, and sub-account management) to financial planners and advisors for Nuveen, Govett, and MFS.

Wholesaling helped Mary develop a thorough understanding of diverse financial products and concepts, as well as the nuances of communicating with various financial services audiences. Today, one of Mary’s greatest strengths is her ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, in language that receives securities compliance approval with few changes.

Mary lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her husband, Sam. They are busy acclimating to having adult children. Their oldest, Zoe, works in the wilds of Northern Wisconsin and their youngest, Colin, is studying paleontology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Mary enjoys reading, hiking, and theater.
