John Lotka, Founder

John Lotka

John brings his clients over 35 years of diverse business leadership experience in various organizational settings including:

  • Improving and revamping existing businesses
  • Turning around struggling companies
  • Leading start-up efforts both inside existing companies and as bootstrap new ventures.

Over his career John has served as Chief Marketing Officer for Cole Capital Markets, as Director of Marketing Administration at John Nuveen & Co., as Chief Operating and Chief Financial Officer of United of America Bank, a $35 million community bank and as a Partner at Frankel & Co., formerly the nation’s largest independent marketing services agency, now part of Publicis.

In 1988, John joined Nuveen Investments to create a new blueprint for the marketing function. He established functional capabilities for database management, marketing research, distribution marketing support, advertising and financial management for marketing. While at Nuveen, John served as a member of the ICI Sales Force Marketing Committee from 1990-1997 and was a founding member of the Mutual Fund Forum, now known as the Forum for Investor Advice, a trade association that represents the interest of advisor sold fund groups whose members currently account for 80% of all mutual fund assets. 

At Frankel, John established a new industry practice from scratch, targeting the top financial services companies. New clients included 5 divisions of Citicorp and Visa USA. Group client billings were exceeded only by the group managing the agency’s longest tenured client, McDonald’s Corporation.

Prior to Frankel, John ran the core operations and financial management of several community banks. As COO and CFO at United of America Bank, he led a turnaround in profitability ending four years of losses and enabling the bank to be sold at a considerable profit to a private investment group within 2 years.

When John founded Maximum Impact Partners in 1998, he recognized that senior sales and marketing people need a flexible outside resource that can sit down with them and go right to work. To meet that need John assembled a team of experienced professionals who have years of experience on the client side creating success in their companies. He views the starting point of any client relationship as focusing on what needs to happen right now, eliminating the learning curve and leveraging the good work that has already been done by the client.

Marietta L. Parenti

Marietta L. Parenti is an accomplished corporate executive and consultant with more than 20 years of experience in driving strategic marketing for diverse service-based enterprises including financial services, health care, professional associations and marketing services agencies. Marietta has a reputation for bringing insight and clarity to marketing planning, creating innovative marketing solutions to complex problems, and delivering ROI-based results. A natural leader, she brings together and manages high-performance teams to create and execute business building marketing programs, from competitive positioning and brand identity development to communications through traditional, digital and social media and public relations, and results tracking and reporting.

Marietta’s financial services industry experience includes eight years with John Nuveen & Company, first as AVP and Manager of Promotional Marketing, then Vice President of Western Region Marketing, and finally Vice President, Director of Mutual Fund Marketing. In each role, she introduced novel approaches to channel and investor marketing, distribution services and decision support systems, contributing to the successful expansion of Nuveen’s product line and entry into the wealth management category. Her previous financial services experience includes marketing agency account management for a broad spectrum of financial services clients including Citibank, N.A., American Express, Equifax and AmSouth Bank.

In addition to financial services, Marietta has tremendous experience in the health care industry. As Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for the American Medical Association, she drove the organization’s transformation into digital marketing and social media to engage its various stakeholders, and guided the organization’s communications through the tumultuous development and ultimate passage of the Accountable Care Act. Previously, she was Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC), where she effectively re-positioned and promoted RIC as the worldwide leader in physical medicine & rehabilitation research and patient care, achieving record growth across all levels of care.

Marietta holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and a Master of Business Administration degree from DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

Martha Clark

As Principal of Clark Creative, Martha is passionate about helping companies and organizations package their brands. She has over twenty-five years experience developing identity programs and marketing campaigns for local and national companies that span a diverse group of industries. Early in her career, Martha enjoyed success in the high-tech arena and with consumer-oriented companies such as Arizona Public Service Company, Alexander Homes, a luxury home builder in Arizona, and Golf Digest Schools.

In 2000, along with new clients in the business services sector, Martha began working with Arizona State University (ASU) creating freshman recruitment and orientation materials. In 2005 she forged a relationship with the School of Global Management and Leadership (SGML) producing the school’s first biannual magazine Business@sgml. Her work with SGML gained her recognition and a contract with Mary Lou Fulton College of Education to produce their 2009 annual report as well as conference materials for their spring Indigenous Languages Symposium. Recently Martha’s work has included creating trade show displays and collateral materials for financial services companies, among them NRF Capital Markets, a firm based in the Denver area.

Martha’s passion doesn’t stop there, she has donated her design talents to charitable organizations such as the American Heart Association, Habitat for Humanity and the Happily Ever After League. She has also played the role of instructor, teaching an introductory graphic design course to industrial design students at the College of Technology and Innovation at ASU. In addition to praise from clients, Martha has received recognition for her work in Letterheads in the Third Dimension and Creativity 26.

Martha graduated from ASU’s fine arts program with a degree in graphic design. An avid golfer, she is currently serving as vice president of the 500 Club Women’s Golf Association. Martha lives in Peoria, Arizona with her husband and has a son in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Russell Parker

For over three decades, Russell M. Parker has helped some of the biggest names in financial services build market presence, grow distribution and drive profitable results. In 2013, Russ founded rpmAUM® and RPM Distribution, LLC to provide strategic brand and product consulting services to the leadership of asset management firms and to offer unconventional ideas and non-traditional distribution methods to their asset gathering efforts.
Additionally, Russ can also provide a complete roadmap for those managers that are seeking entry to the advisor assisted space for the first time.. Russ built these organizations to share his creativity, innovative strategies and informed opinions to help clients achieve accelerated growth through non-traditional distribution methods and outwitting the status quo.

As those who have worked with Russ will tell you, he was born with a natural drive to make things happen. His strong senior management experience, coupled with his extensive background in sales and marketing, provides him a unique opportunity to lead through success across multiple disciplines such as sales, marketing, operations and product development. He has worked with blue chip companies and small boutique firms. This range of experience has given him a leg-up in putting investment products and services within arm’s reach of investor desire. Today, he brings his expertise and institutional knowledge to other financial service firms “helping them achieve positive results more efficiently” saving them time and money.

Russ has been an active volunteer for many years with both the local and national MS Society. He currently serves as Chairman of the National Campaign Chapter. A graduate of Villanova University, Russ has also earned the CIMA® designation through the Wharton School of Management and holds the Series 7, 26, and 63 licenses.

With all of Russ’s credentials, successes and achievements through the years, his most unique attribute isn’t one that can be experienced on paper.
